The annual CUHK Student Exchange Week was held in October 2019 to promote outgoing exchange opportunities in the 2020-21 academic year. A number of events were held during the week, including Global Explorer Exhibitions, Global Explorer Briefings, Global Explorer Regional Briefing and Ask Us Anything sessions, to deliver first-hand information from staff, incoming exchange students and returned outgoing students so that CUHK students interested in going on exchange could explore opportunities available to them. A record-high of 1,560 student exchange applications were received following the conclusion of the Student Exchange Week.
Overseas exchange is a precious opportunity for students to get to know another culture, to explore the world and to make new friends. Not only will it enrich students’ academic experience, it will also give them a chance to undertake adventures in unfamiliar places.
‘Going on exchange was an incredible way to explore different fields of study and living in a multicultural city allowed me to widen my global vision. I was amazed by how people from different backgrounds integrate peacefully. This was definitely the most enriching summer I have ever had,’ said Mr. LO Chun Hei, an MBChB student exchanged to Singapore in summer 2019.
The University offers student exchange programmes with over 280 partner institutions in more than 30 destinations, with scholarship and financial assistance schemes available to support the exchange.
