Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, took part in the 5th Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) Vice Presidents for Research Meeting during 28-30 October 2019 at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Themed ‘Strategic Research Partnership for Better and Sustainable Societies’, this annual event drew some 40 participants from over 20 member universities to deliberate sustainable development challenges and related research, and to discuss the research collaboration strategy of APRU.

During the event, Prof. Cheung chaired the panel on ‘Roles of APRU Members on Sustainable Development Goals Related Research’ and spoke on ‘Infrastructure and Strategic Research Development on Sustainability at CUHK’. She also spoke at another panel on ‘APRU Best Practice on Faculty Promotion and Reward: Enhancing Impact and Collaboration’.

APRU is a network of 51 leading universities linking the Americas, Asia and Australasia with an aim to collaborate on effective solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.
