The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organized the first "The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholars Roundtable Discussion" on Thursday, 23 February 2017. The event was graced by the presence of Ms Karen Cheung, Member of the Board of Trustees, and Mr Alan Chow, Executive Director of The D. H. Chen Foundation; Professor Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK; Professor Wong Suk-ying, Associate Vice-President and Director of Admissions and Financial Aid of CUHK; and Ms Janet Chow, Director of Institutional Advancement of CUHK.

In this academic year, six outstanding CUHK students received the prestigious "The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship". Five of them (one is currently on overseas exchange) shared with our distinguished guests at the roundtable discussion their vibrant university life as well as their plans for future career development. Professor Wong Suk-ying expressed her sincere gratitude to The D. H. Chen Foundation for their staunch support towards CUHK over the years. She also encouraged the awardees to grasp every opportunity to exchange ideas with people from all walks of life when participating in activities organized by the Foundation.

Established in 2015, "The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship" offers tuition fee, living and overseas exchange subsidy to outstanding local university students. The Scholarship aims to relieve students’ financial burden, and more importantly to encourage them to broaden their horizon and achieve all-rounded development. Partnering closely with local universities, The D. H. Chen Foundation will organize a wide range of activities for scholars to participate, including social services, mentorship programme, annual dinner and roundtable discussions.
