There are not less than 140 quotas for age 60+ participants to join the on-the-spot assessment activities every day. Assessment tickets will be distributed in designated timeslots throughout the day. Please visit our booth during the event period. There will have lucky draw for limited quantity of small gifts after your assessments.

Medical Professionals from Jiangsu Province visited JOCOC

It was our pleasure to have six delegates from the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University and a representative from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission visit our Centre on 27 May 2025. Our Centre Director, Prof. Kwok Chi Yiu Timothy, hosted an exchange discussion session with them after the group paid a visit to the Centre's operation and facilities. We all believed that bone and muscle health are essential topics in managing elder frailty effectively.

Our visitors attended the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair held in HKCEC, 26-28 May 2025. We greatly appreciated their visit and the valuable discussion we had with them.

It's great to see World Osteoporosis Day community education and screening events being held in various districts! A blessing for the elderly!

Following the joint seminar and screening project organized by our centre with the Christian Family Service Centre and the Hong Kong Osteoporosis Foundation in Kwun Tong on October 20, 2024, for World Osteoporosis Day (event details: https://www.jococ.org/en/news-and-events.php & Facebook https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1eCjJJj37C2V5Ajf/), our centre also supported the World Osteoporosis Day event held by the Lions Club and the Asia Pacific Osteoporosis Foundation in Kwai Chung on January 4, 2025. Professor Kwok Chi Yiu Timothy, the director of our centre, was invited to host a health seminar. The centre also assisted with the screening activities, actively promoting the message of 'Building Muscles and Protecting Bones to Prevent Fractures' and helping to create a healthy community life for the elderly.

【Outreach Activity - JOCOC x St. James' Settlement】

JOCOC was invited by St. James' Settlement to conduct a health talk in Cheung Chau on 10 July 2024. This activity is aimed to provide bone health education to the elderly, sharing on how to prevent and improve osteoporosis through elderly intervention, a high calcium diet, reorganising their home, as well as, doing fall prevention exercises. Over 40 pax of 60+ participants actively shared their concerns and the event ended with an interactive Q&A session. This indicated their high interest towards osteoporosis. A great thanks for the elderly's participation!
