Scope of work

The role of JOCOC falls into 4 categories : (1) Clinic Service; (2) Training for health professionals; (3) Public education; and (4) Research.


(1) Clinic Service

JOCOC carries out assessment, treatment and rehabilitation service for fractured, osteoporotic or osteosarcopenic patients who are referred from public/private sector professionals or university professors.

Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA)
  Hip + Lumbar spine + Doctor consultation (new case) $1,250
  Hip + Lumbar spine $880
  Whole body scan $450
  Hip + Lumbar spine + Whole body scan $1,200
High resolution peripheral quantitiative computed tomography (HR-pQCT) of bone microarchitecture $1,200
Clinics Consultation Fee

  Rehabilitation Service Charge
Falls, Fracture Risk & Muscle Mass Assessment for the Elderly
  -Length of assessment: approximately 2 hours
-Assessments include muscle strength, balance, cognition and DXA for whole body, hip and lumbar spine; report will be available on the same day

  Already have valid1 body composition AND DXA for hip and lumbar spine reports $700
  Already have an valid1 body composition OR DXA for hip and lumbar spine report $1,000
  1 report issued within one year
Fall Prevention Exercise Class for the Elderly (designed by physiotherapist and guided by physical fitness trainer)
 
  • Each class consists of 12 weekly 1-hour lessons
  • Classes are held at the Centre
  • Max 10 people per class
  • Participant will receive a training handbook

(2) Training for health professionals

JOCOC participates actively in supporting International Osteoporosis Foundation, Hong Kong Osteoporosis Foundation and various medical societies in training for health professionals via the coorganizing of medical symposiums, seminars and courses for medical doctors and allied health professionals.


(3) Public education

JOCOC promotes public awareness in the prevention and management of osteoporosis by organising community health talks, workshops and World Osteoporosis Day.


(4) Research

JOCOC participated and also currently undergoing research or study projects on osteoporosis which falls into aspects of epidemiology, cost benefits, biomechanics, genetics, AI, biomarkers, etc. JOCOC staff members involved the release of 29 publications & conference papers in 2016 & 2017.

Shortcut

Or you may click on the IE Settings icon, select Zoom, then choose a percentage or click Zoom In.

Opera
On the View menu, select Zoom. Then choose a percentage.

Safari
On the View menu, select Make Text Bigger.
