Summary of Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo 2013
The Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo 2013 was successfully held in Lee Shau Kee Building on 5 Dec 2013. It attracted about 190 CUHK teaching staff, students and participants from other institutions.
Expo 2013 began with a formal opening by Prof. Kit-Tai Hau who is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President at CUHK. In the keynote session, three teachers from different realms had delivered their innovative strategies to the participants, including Professor Jane Jackson and Professor Lutz-Christian Wolff from CUHK, and Mr. Allan Carrington from the University of Adelaide in Australia.
This year, a total of 20 talks were delivered in parallel sessions and 59 posters were presented. We were pleased to observe a sharp increase in the number of talks and poster presentations in comparison with the previous events. Teachers from different disciplines shared their ideas on a variety of topics, including campus development, curriculum designs, teaching strategies, learning activity designs and use of technology for teaching and learning.
Expo 2013 was also an exhibition of projects that are subsidized by University Grant, Teaching Development Grant, Courseware Development Grant and other initiatives that showcased advantages and achievements of teaching and learning innovative strategies.
