The Insurance, Financial, and Actuarial Analysis (IFAA) programme under the Business School of CUHK was recognized by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) of the USA recently as the Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE). This is the highest award bestowed upon an actuarial programme in North America, and so far 21 world-renowned universities have received such recognition. The CUHK programme has excelled in a wide range of areas, including curriculum design, teaching qualification, connection with the actuary industry and graduates’ prospects. CUHK is among the first batch of Asian universities to receive this honour. The designation is awarded for a period of five years starting 15 December 2011.
