CUHK and Zhejiang University (ZJU) renewed three collaboration agreements and concluded a new MOU on 20 December 2011 to maintain the long-term academic partnership between the two parties. The collaboration agreements renewed comprised those relating to academic change and joint laboratories in Natural Products and Toxicology, and in Advanced Photonics. The two universities also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Collaboration between Faculty of Medicine of CUHK and the First Affiliated Hospital of Medical School of ZJU to expand research collaboration in the field of medicine.
