From Intellectual to Entrepreneur

Co-organized by the CUHK Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) and the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE), the seminar ‘From Intellect to Entrepreneur—the Tenacity and Knowledge for Transformation’ was held on 4 December 2012 at the Art Museum on CUHK campus.

During the seminar, Prof. Au Yuk-fai Kevin (2nd left), director of the CfE, gave a summary of of entrepreneurship, the various stages in the entrepreneurial process, and the challenges facing entrepreneurs. Mr. Bernard Suen (2nd right), senior mentor for many start-up businesses from the CfE, talked about the secret and reality of attracting angel investors, as well as the support for would-be entrepreneurs available from the government, particularly the CfE.  Mr. Cheng Chi-ming Carl (1st right), an alumnus of CUHK, artist and founder of two startups, shared with the audience his experiences of founding two different startups, his choice of becoming an artist after graduating from the business school, the new knowledge he has learned, and the tension between being an artist and being a businessman at the same time.
