New Asia College Cultural Talks 2022-2023 Third Lecture


“New Asia College Cultural Talks is jointly organized by New Asia College and the New Asia College Alumni Association, co-organized by New Asia Middle School. There are two to three talks in each academic year. The third talk will be held on 11 March 2023. It is our honor to invite Mr. YUEN Siu Fai, BBS, BH, Cantonese Opera Veteran, and Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong as our speaker. Details are as follows:

The 34th Ch'ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture

“The Ch’ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture” was established since 1978. A distinguished scholar will be invited to deliver a series of public lectures exploring topics on Chinese history and culture. Starting from 2013, the lecture series is endowed by the Mr. Chan Chi-sun Chinese Culture Fund. This year, the lectures will be held in March. It is our honour to have invited Prof. Nicolas Standaert, Professor of Sinology, University of Leuven, Belgium, as our speaker. Details of the lectures are as follows:

1st Lecture : Joining the Global Public in the Early Qing Dynasty: The Chinese “Gazette” in European Sources
