Curriculum
Course Description
Basic Cardiology
The course will provide comprehensive coverage in basic anatomy, physiology, autonomic system, ECG interpretation, circulation control, molecular biology, endothelial function, hypertension, pregnancy, basic biostatistics and medical ethics.
Clinical Cardiology
This will be a 2-part course covering topics including heart failure, valvular heart disease, acute coronary syndrome, cardiomyopathy; cardiac arrhythmia, adult congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, risk stratification for non-cardiac surgery, management of cardiac emergencies, as well as other common cardiovascular disorders.
Clinical Seminar
This will be a 2-part seminar presenting cases to illustrate clinical approach to common cardiovascular problems, as well as the latest advances in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases.
Cardiac Procedures
It will be illustrated by videos and introduces basic knowledge of various cardiac investigations and procedures, including basic techniques and precautions.
Dissertation
A 5,000-word dissertation in the form of topical review is required for graduation.
Graduation Requirements
All students should obtain a cumulative overall GPA of at least 2.0 in order to graduate.
Students are required to attend at least 80% of classes of each course.
Submit all assignments, attend all examinations and achieve a minimum grade of āDā in each of the course taken.
