I·CARE Hong Kong Cultural Tours Project: Stories of Hong Kong in Cemetery



On top of recruiting students to undergo rigorous training for over half a year before letting them serve as docents to lead free cultural tours in order to serve the needy, the I·CARE Hong Kong Cultural Tours Project usually organises one-off guided tours to facilitate students’ discovery of Hong Kong stories. The project has lately engaged Mr. George Wan, founder of the Hide and Seek Tour, to preside over one tour with details as follows:


Date: 8 October 2022 (Saturday)

Time: 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Location: Hong Kong Cemetery (Happy Valley)

Language: Cantonese

Quota: 20

Content: To learn about Hong Kong’s legendary years through the stories of grandees buried in this city’s oldest public cemetery (e.g. famous revolutionist Yeung Ku-wan, and political and business titan Sir Robert Hotung)

Target: Undergraduate and full-time research postgraduate students

Fee: Free of charge

Deposit: HK$100 (refunded upon attendance on the event day)
