To equip students with professional training in journalism and communication as well as business administration, the School of Journalism and Communication and CUHK Business School have jointly offered the double degree options in Journalism and Communication Programme and Integrated BBA Programme since 2012-13. Students will be awarded a Bachelor of Social Science (B.S.Sc.) degree in Journalism and Communication and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Integrated BBA upon completion of studies.

JLM-BBA/BBA-JLM open to students (4-year curriculum) admitted to Bachelor of Business Administration (Integrated BBA Programme) and Bachelor of Social Science (Journalism and Communication Programme) starting from 2012 - 2013. |

It will take five years for students to complete the double degree options. Students will be admitted within the School of Journalism and Communication’s or CUHK Business School’s allocated number of UGC-funded positions for the first degree. The second bachelor’s degree programme would be run on a self-financing basis and would normally last for 1 year. |

Student will complete the first degree before beginning the second degree. The second degree is optional. |

Students will be required to fulfill academic requirements of both the Journalism and Communication Programme and the Integrated BBA Programme. |

If a student of the double degree option decides not to opt for the second degree (BBA or JLM), he or she might be considered for the award of a minor of the Integrated BBA programme or the Journalism and Communication programme if he or she fulfills the academic requirements. |

For admission to the second degree programme, students should have:
i. |
obtained admission scores not lower than a score mutually agreed by both the School of Journalism and Communication and CUHK Business School, and this score should not be lower than the lowest admission scores of the 2nd degree programme; |
ii. |
fulfilled all graduation requirements of the first degree programme; |
iii. |
obtained a Major GPA of at least 3.0 upon completion of studies of the first degree programme (JLM or BBA);
|
iv. |
taken at least a reasonable number of units (27 units as mutually agreed by both the School of Journalism and Communication and CUHK Business School) of courses prescribed by the second degree programme while pursuing the first degree programme; and |
v. |
achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 in these second degree programme courses. These second degree programme courses include the mutually recognized courses of the double degree option.
Interview may be arranged for shortlisted candidates. Students who do not satisfy the above requirements may still apply for admission to the second degree programme which has discretion in judging the suitability of the students in studying for the second degree programme through assessments like conducting interview, considering the recommendation from the first degree programme, etc. |
Integrated BBA Programme (IBBA)
IBBA Programme provides students with a comprehensive, integrated and high-quality business education. A distinctive feature of the programme is the overall exposure it affords students to the general field of business administration while allowing them to specialise in their particular area(s) of interest.
In addition to taking a series of business foundation courses, students can choose up to two concentrations from the following areas, depending their interests and ambitions.
