Registered Dietitian, Ms. Bernice CHEUNG suggests pregnant women to have even spread of food over the day, and to avoid sugary and calorie dense food or drink.

CUHK Announces Asia's First Research Results on Patients' Lifestyle Reveals Personalised Modification Programme is Effective in Reducing Severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea

(From left) Dr Susanna So-Shan NG, Clinical Assistant Professor (honorary) and Prof David Shu-Cheong HUI, Stanley Ho Professor of Respiratory Medicine, from the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics; Professor Mandy Man-Mei SEA, Centre Manager, Centre for Nutritional Studies, state that their recent research proves Lifestyle Modification Programme is effective in reducing the severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

CUHK Develops Lifestyle Modification Program for Fatty Liver Patients

60% Patients Recovered Without Use of Drugs

Professor Vincent Wai Sun WONG, Deputy Director, Centre for Liver Health, CUHK demonstrates the fibroscan which allows accurate assessment of the status on liver fibrosis and fatty liver.

Assistant Professor Mandy Man Mei SEA, Manager & Principal Nutritionist, Centre for Nutritional Studies, CUHK indicates that most fatty liver patients could recover with the guidance of dietitian and exercise instructor without the use of medication.

 

Dr Chung Fai YAU, Research Associate, Centre for Nutritional Studies, CUHK, together with Mr SUM, a fatty liver patient, demonstrate exercise of the Lifestyle Modification Program. It is recommended that patients should exercise 30 minutes a day, 3 to 5 times a week.

CUHK Study Reveals High Salt Intake Will Lead to High Blood Pressure and Higher Risk of Stroke

(From left) Dr. CHAN Suk Mei Ruth, Research Associate; Professor YU Ho Yan Ruby, Research Assistant Professor; and Prof. SEA Man Mei Mandy, Assistant Professor (by Courtesy), Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, and Centre Manager, Centre for Nutritional Studies, CUHK, present the findings of their study that high salt level will lead to high blood pressure and higher risk of stroke, and recommend that reducing salt intake is the simplest and the most cost-effective way to prevent stroke.
