CUHK’s Herbal garden is located in the main campus of the University, which is opposite to Ho Sin Heng Engineering Building and Academic Building, with a total area of 100,000 squares feet. The Garden is one of the most important scenic spots of the University’s Culture and Alumni Trails.
Since its establishment in 2000, Institute of Chinese Medicine (ICM) has developed a number of nurseries on campus. Among them, this was the largest and the most well-equipped one which has been developed into the largest Herbal Garden in Hong Kong over the past few years.
ICM has collected and planted over 500 kinds of specimen in the herbal Garden and is continuously introducing new specimens to the Garden. It is hoped to provide some authenticated information of medicinal materials to the reference of the co-workers in the field and to enhance the basic knowledge on medicinal herbs of the general public.
