Second Call: Second International Conference on Global Change and the Environment in Asia and Pacific (GCEAP): Inland Waters and Coastal Environment

The Second International Conference on Global Change and the Environment in Asia and Pacific (GCEAP): Inland Waters and Coastal Environment will be held on 28-29 October 2010 at the campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, New Territories, Hong Kong.

This conference will foster informed debate among scientists and stakeholders related to the environment and global climate change. The First GCEAP was held in 2008, with the focus on Global and Local Water and Energy Cycles Variability. The theme of this conference is environmental quality and the impact of global climate change on inland waters and coastal environments, including feedback processes. 

In many coastal regions, rapid industrial, urban and agricultural development has caused land use and land cover changes and various associated kinds of water pollution. The inland to coastal water cycles influence, and are influenced by, effects of both regional and global climate change.

The two-day conference will include invited talks and contributed oral and poster presentations. All abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings. Selected papers will be solicited for publication in a special issue of a refereed journal (e.g., International Journal of Remote Sensing and/or Natural Hazards).
