Collection Methods Available
 

The collection methods below are not applicable to student fees collection. For details of the payment methods available for student fees, please click here or contact us.

Collection Methods Available includes:

General procedures applicable to different collection methods.

 

By Cash & Cheque

  • Collected cash & cheque by department should be deposited directly to the University’s bank account at Hang Seng Bank
  • Department should put department chop and write the name of department contact person/contact telephone number on the back of the original copy of the cheque before depositing the cheque to Hang Seng Bank for identification in case of bounced cheque
  • Please note the following when handling cash receipts:

Direct Payment

By Direct Remittance to Bank

Overseas telegraphic transfer (TT) and local bank direct transfer (DCR) could be effected in HK Dollar, US Dollar, Pound Sterling and Renminbi, and credited to University’s bank accounts designated by Investment and Treasury Unit (ITU) beforehand.

Department should inform their clients to quote invoice number/name of department and/or department contact person in their application to pay to University via TT or DCR for identification.

Upon receiving clients’ notice that money is transferred by TT or DCR, department should pass the notice to ITU for checking if the money is indeed received at bank either by sending email to itu@cuhk.edu.hk or calling at ext. 37282.

ITU will provide details of the bank account such as bank code and bank account number to department to facilitate the collection.

EPS

By Electronic Payment Services (EPS)

Operative on swipe card and key-in Personal Identification Number (PIN) to authorize the immediate debit to bank account.

The transaction amount simultaneously will be credited into the University's designated bank account.

A special terminal is required for EPS payment. Written application should be forwarded to Investment and Treasury Unit stating the location of the terminal to be installed and purpose of the collection for arranging installation by bank.

Collection by EPS is subject to commission charged. For details of the commission rate, please contact Investment and Treasury Unit at ext. 37186 or 31939.

 

By WeChat Pay and Alipay

Payment by WeChat and Alipay can be collected via terminals.

Collection by WeChat Pay and Alipay is subject to commission charged. For details of the application procedure and commission rate, please contact Investment and Treasury Unit at ext. 37186 or 31939.

VISA Master Union pay

By Credit Card

Payment by credit card can be effected via

  • Mail order (by VISA and MasterCard only)
  • Terminal (by VISA, MasterCard and China UnionPay Card)
  • Online payment system (by VISA, MasterCard and China UnionPay Card)

Payment by Credit card is confined to specific types of income.

University has signed agreements with Bank of East Asia Ltd. (BEA) and Hang Seng Bank Ltd. (HSB) to provide credit card collection service.

Written application has to be forwarded to Investment and Treasury Unit stating the purpose of the collection for arrangement with bank.

Department accepting credit card payment should read the following notes on collection service provided by the bank:
- Bank of East Asia Ltd.
- Hang Seng Bank Ltd.

By Octopus Card

University has signed agreement with Octopus Cards Limited to provide octopus card collection service.
