ABOUT US
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Dance Medicine is currently led by Professor Patrick Yung under the umbrella of Orthopaedic and Traumatology department’s Sports Medicine team. Being recognized globally as a leader in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and the chairman of Orthopaedic and Traumatology of the Faculty of Medicine of CUHK, Professor Yung has led a team of CUHK researchers devoted to making advances in sports medicine and arthroscopy surgery. He has also been committed to deliver medical services in amateur and professional sport communities globally.
Dr Samuel Ling, a Clinical Assistant Professor and Honorary Associate Consultant/Head of Foot and Ankle Team from CUHK Orthopaedic and Traumatology department is the main orchestrator for the CUHK Dance Medicine Research Clinic. Currently, Dr Ling also holds the position as the Vice-President of the Hong Kong Association of Dance Medicine and Science (HKADMS). Being passionate and devoted to provide professional consultation and medical treatment for the dancers, Dr Ling has been working closely with various stakeholders to create a platform in promoting awareness of the dance-related clinical research. Lastly, the team hopes to promote healthy dancing through excellent clinical care and translational scientific research and believes that “Science strengthens the Art”.
In Collaboration with HKADMS, Dance Medicine Research Clinic has been supporting dancers from prominent institutions such as Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Hong Kong Disneyland, Hong Kong Ballet, Hong Kong Dance and CCDC Dance Centre.
Currently, our expansion of service scope aims to reach beyond professional dancers as we believe that everyone should have access to high-quality healthcare.
