Fog Computing and Communications: Technology and Economics

Date: 30 Sep 2017
Venue: Room 1009, William M. W. Mong Engineering Building, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

This Workshop is the first workshop on fog computing in Hong Kong. Fog computing is advocated to supplement cloud computing. It is more distributed to be closer to end users and hence has shorter latency and response time, which is critical to many applications. The program covers practical Physical-Layer Network Coding (PNC), edge mesh network that enables scalable connectivity and distributed intelligence for IoT, shared fog networks, computation offlloading, etc.

ITCSC - INC Winter School 2016

Date: 25 Jan 2016 to 29 Jan 2016
Venue: G05 Seminar Room, Chan Chun Ha Hall, S.H. Ho College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

The ITCSC-INC Winter School is a weeklong series of lectures and academic activities for second and third year undergraduate students from universities across Asia. It takes place in January every year at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The winter school program combines academic learning, problem solving, and cultural exchange. The lectures, which cover topics in the theory of computation and communications, will be delivered by renowned professors. Besides, there will be a city exploration tour for the participants on the last day of the programme.

Undergraduate students of computer science and electrical engineering from universities across Asia are welcome to apply. Invitations will be sent to a selected number of students based on the quality of your application and budgetary considerations. Should you be invited, ITCSC and INC will cover your round-trip airfare to Hong Kong, your accommodation, and your meals.
