On 9 March 2012, an 18-member delegation led by Prof. Jack C.Y. Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited the Health Department of Guangdong Province (HDGP) and met with Dr. Geng Qing-Shan, Director-General of HDGP and other HDGP officials. Our School members including Professors Kenneth K.H. Lee, David C.C. Wan, Chen Yangchao, Feng Bo and Wan Chao were in the delegation.
During the meeting with HDGP, Prof. Wan Chao gave a presentation on the overview of the School of Biomedical Sciences and our major collaborations with institutions of higher learning and research in Mainland China. Other School members also introduced their current research projects to the HDGP members. Potential areas of collaboration were discussed at the meeting. The HDGP has planned to pay a return visit to CUHK in the near future.
