Governance Framework for Subsidiaries and Spin-off Companies
Our Mission
Established in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has attracted numerous talented and enthusiastic researchers to deliver world-class research, cutting-edge technologies, and paradigm-shifting ideas. CUHK has also been sought by numerous research institutes, government offices, companies, and organizations for collaboration. The Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS) at CUHK supports researchers and their collaborators with a wide range of services, and promotes knowledge development and transfer. With the goal of facilitating the integration between knowledge creation and knowledge transfer, ORKTS was formed in early 2014 following the merger of the former Research Administration Office and the Knowledge Transfer Office.
Our roles:
- Identifying research opportunities and funding sources.
- Providing practical services and support for University's researchers.
- Processing research grants and commissioned project contracts
- Assisting the formulation and execution of research, IP, and ethics policies.
- Facilitating research collaboration with the academic and industrial communities.
- Supporting innovative and entrepreneurial undertakings by faculty members, researchers, and students.
- Facilitating the development and licensing of University's intellectual property.
- Supporting knowledge transfer via community projects and programs.
