BIOGRAPHY
Professor Amy Ha is currently the Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Education, and former Chairperson (2009-2015) of the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at the CUHK. She leads the Sport Pedagogy & Physical Activity Assessment Laboratory and her research interests include application of information technology in Physical Education, Family-based Physical Activity, Fundamental Movement Skills, Physical Literacy, and Teachers' Professional Development. As a principal investigator (PI), Prof Ha has secured a wide range of competitive research funding, including four grants from the RGC General Research Fund, one from the UGC matching fund, two from the Quality Education Fund, three Knowledge Transfer Grants and six commercial research fund grants from Coca-Cola Foundation, Atlanta, US. In addition to the above, Prof Ha is the PI of a five-year (2017 – 2022) large-scale programme titled “Fun to Move@JC”, which was co-created and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The project aims to elicit positive mind-set and behavioural changes at individual, social, environment, and school policy levels, and is expected to impact more than 80,000 individuals, including students, parents, and teachers in Hong Kong. Professor Ha is a board member of the International Association for Physical Education in Higher Education (AIESEP). She received the CUHK Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award in 2009 and the University Research Excellence Award in 2015. In her role as Founder and President of the Hong Kong Rope Skipping Association, Professor Ha received the Leader of the Year 2016 in the Sports / Culture / Performing Arts category from the Sing Tao Newspaper Group in 2017 on the association's behalf.
