Prof. Guoan was awarded Doctor of Natural Sciences / Geographic Information Sciences from the Salzburg University, Austria in 1998. He served as Lecture, Associate Professor and Professor of Northwest University, China during 1987 to 2004. In 2004, he became the Professor and Vice Dean of School of Geographic Science at Nanjing Normal University. Prof. Guoan is the council member of China Association of Geographic Inforamtion System (CAGIS) and Co-Chair of Education Committee of CAGIS. His research interests include DEM analysis, uncertaintyof DEM and spatial information mining.
