The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is actively searching top international researchers in various fields for its strategic visions and goals, BME is one of the multidisciplinary fields to focus on. Our department has new faculty positions from the University to support the development of the Department. We are seeking candidates to fill several faculty posts at full professor/ associate professor/ assistant professor levels with prospect for substantiation in BME in different partnering departments.
Building upon a strong record in multidisciplinary BME research, the Faculty of Engineering in close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine is offering BME programmes at levels from Bachelor of Engineering to Doctor of Philosophy. The BEng and MPhil/PhD programmes are hosted in our department with academic contributions from different disciplines. Our department is looking for excellent candidates with various engineering underpinnings in the areas of (i) biomaterials and regenerative medicine; (ii) biomolecular engineering & nanomedicine; and (iii) medical instrumentation & biosensing.
Successful candidates will be expected to develop a significant independent research programme with external funding, supervise postgraduate students, and teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Depending on the specific disciplines of the appointees, appointments can be hosted in different academic units. If deemed appropriate, joint appointments across relevant departments can also be considered.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing as soon as possible, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. The exact start date can be worked out with the successful applicants.

Research Assistant Professor(s)

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is actively recruiting top international researchers to accelerate its strategic initiatives. Biomedical Engineering (BME) has been identified as one of the multidisciplinary fields to focus on. Building upon a strong record in research and teaching, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, in close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and with academic contributions from other engineering departments, offers BME programmes at all levels including BEng, MSc and MPhil/PhD.
The Department is looking for outstanding candidates in the areas of
1. Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine;
2. Biomolecular Engineering & Nanomedicine;
3. Medical Instrumentation & Biosensors; and
4. Biomedical Imaging and Informatics.
Applicants should have (i) a relevant PhD degree preferably with post-doctoral training in relevant area(s); (ii) strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching; and (iii) potential to conduct innovative work.
Successful candidate(s) will be expected to (i) participate and/or develop in significant independent and/or joint research programme(s); (ii) apply for external research funding; (iii) supervise postgraduate students and research staff; (iv) teach courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (v) provide service at departmental, faculty and/or university levels.
Appointment(s) will initially be made on a contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to performance, funding availability and mutual agreement.
