Centre for Translation Technology
Mission

Founded in September 2006, The Centre for Translation Technology (CTT) aims to foster research into all aspects of translation and technology. While some people may simply think of machine translation when they hear “translation technology”, we understand both “translation” and “technology” in a wider sense. Thus translation technology also includes older forms such as radio, television, film, and even printing and bookbinding technologies, as well as technologies of distribution. Furthermore, CTT encourages research into the role of technology in the study of translation (including, but not limited to, electronic corpora and database technologies) and the development of new “digital humanities” approaches, as well as the use of technology as part of the translation process.
