Counselling and Guidance service has always been an important component in primary and secondary schools, universities and social service agencies. Broadly speaking, this research programme is designed to accomplish three major objectives. The first is to explore models of comprehensive counselling and guidance services in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong. The second is to examine factors influencing the effectiveness of counselling services in Hong Kong in different educational and social service settings. The final objective is to explore avenues to integrate counselling theories and practice with Chinese culture.
