Soaring Over CUHK

Far from Hong Kong’s busy urban areas, CUHK campus was built on a hillside which commands panoramic views of the Tolo Harbour. It is one of Asia’s most attractive campuses. Many poets have waxed lyrical about its harmonious tranquility and scholarly atmosphere.

Walking in the campus, people can be mesmerised by the perfect combination of nature and architectures. But have you ever wondered what a view you would get looking at the campus from above? Now, let’s go “flying” with the camera and enjoy the campus panorama from another angle.

Welcome to CUHK

CUHK held the Inauguration Ceremony for undergraduates on 1 September. At the ceremony, Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor encouraged students to make good use of the learning opportunities at the University. A short video was shown to the new students, introducing the unique features and student support services at CUHK.

In order to help the freshmen immerse themselves in the life of the University, over 3,000 new students were invited to join the orientation activities of various faculties and colleges at CUHK from the middle to the end of August.

Orientation activities went from within to outside campus. CW Chu College offered life experiencing games to help the students to start working on their own plans, and local tours to visit different cultural and artistic spots round the city were organized by the Cultural Management Programme.

The annual Joint College Activity was held on 27 August. New students from nine colleges arrived at the University Mall to chant slogans to show their affection to their colleges. They also expressed their passion for the University by lining up together to form a gigantic phrase 'CU中大'.
