Applicable to students admitted in 2020-21

Major Programme Requirement (for Associate Degree or Higher Diploma holders admitted to senior-year places)

Students are required to complete a minimum of 60 units of courses as follows:

(1)	Required Courses: (a) LING1000, 2003, 2004, 2005 (b) BMBL1001, 2001, 2002, 3001, 3002, 4001 (c) HKSL1000 and 2000, or 2050 (d) HKSL2001 and 3000, or 3050 (e) HKSL3001 and 3002	12 18 6 6 6
(2)	Elective Courses: (a) LING2006 or 3101 (b) Two courses from either (i) or (ii): (i) BMBL4101 and 4102 (ii) BMBL4201 and 4202 (c) 6 units of courses from one of the following three areas of study: (i)  Area I: Education CHED4220, 4340, 4370, 4510, EDUC3140, 4330 (ii)  Area II: Social Work SOWK1114, 2020, 2150, 2202, 2203, 2204 (iii) Area III: Translation TRAN1030; and one course from TRAN1010, 1130, 2110, 2840	3 3     6

Explanatory Note:

1. BMBL, CHED, EDUC, HKSL, LING, SOWK and TRAN courses at 2000 and above level as included in the Major Programme Requirement will be included in the calculation of Major GPA for honours classification.
