Background
End-of-life care is increasingly recognized as an essential component of a comprehensive holistic care. Hospice and Palliative Care has already been recognised as a specialty. There is now a progressive demand for postgraduate course in this growing area of knowledge and expertise. A certificate course was successfully held by our University in March 2006 with a very good response. 85% of participants in the Cert Course expressed an interest in a more advanced course. A postgraduate Diploma Course in End-of- Life Care is needed. The diploma is now in its successful 6th year running.
