The NNPRU promotes the application of evidence-based nursing practice in clinical setting through close partnership with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in the ward. The nurses of the NNPRU team up with the ward colleagues to provide patient care and participate in case conferences to enhance mutual understanding and facilitate collaboration.

In addition, the NNPRU is a clinical teaching venue where undergraduate nursing students are provided with opportunities to develop their skills of integrating current best available evidence and clinical practice, particularly in the aspect of gerontological care and clinical research.
