CUEGU Indian Cooking & Cultural Experience Night

The Chinese University of Hong Kong Employees General Union (CUEGU) is pleased to invite you to join our upcoming Indian Cooking & Cultural Experience Workshop.
香港中文大學員工總會誠意邀請大家參加即將舉行的 「印度食物與文化體驗班」。

This workshop will be led by Lipika, who will demonstrate her family’s home-style recipes and guide participants to prepare two classic Indian dishes: Paratha (layered flatbread) and Raita (yogurt-based condiment). These dishes are commonly enjoyed in Indian households as breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner.
是次活動由 Lipika 主講，與大家分享其家傳食譜，並示範如何製作印度家庭常見的 Paratha（層餅） 及 Raita（乳酪青瓜醬），兩款料理均為印度家庭早餐、早午餐或輕食晚餐的常見搭配。

The workshop is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and suitable for colleagues who enjoy cooking or exploring global cultures.
活動設有示範與實作，適合喜愛烹飪、對異國文化有興趣，或希望在週五晚上輕鬆一下的同事參加。

本會謹訂於2025年8月22日（星期五）舉行第二十一屆會員大會及第十一屆理事會補選，現接受會員報名及提名。有意參選的候選人請填妥並寄回附上的參選表格，或親臨會室索取及遞交紙本參選表格。

The Union’s 21st Annual General Meeting cum by-election of the 11th Executive Committee will be held on Friday, 22 August 2025. Application and nomination for the by-election are now open for eligible CUEGU members. Members can complete and return the nomination form attached. Paper forms are also available at our Union Room.

Nomination deadline: 11 August 2025 (Friday)

Time: 11:45pm-12:45pm (first session); 1pm-2pm (second session)
Venue: 103 Wong Foo Yuan Building
Lunch arrangement: Lunch gathering at the Union Room ($10/person）

Payment Methods:
(a) Cash payment at the Union Room during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 12:15 PM – 1:45 PM).
(b) FPS to the CUEGU’s Hang Seng Bank account: 290-6-032301. Please take a screenshot and send it to the union’s WhatsApp: 5223 2772 (wa.me/+85252232772).
(c) Deposit to the CUEGU’s Hang Seng Bank account: 290-6-032301 and send a copy of the pay-in-slip to the Union Room and include your full name and contact number.

課程慨要：從臨摹扎根，由淺入深，了解各類書體的演變，取其特色，化成自我創作。
導師：周玉英女士 (學習書法已逾十年，近年兼任書法教學工作。現正修讀中大書法理論與研究課程。)

CUEGU Chinese Calligraphy Class (Theme: Hui Chun / Red banner DIY): December 2024 to January 2025

Class outline: From copying to running deep , from simple to complex, to understand the evolution of various types of Chinese calligraphy, take their characteristics and turn them into self-creation.

Instructor: Ms. Michelle Chow – A Chinese Calligraphy educator learning the craft for over 10 years, currently studying Chinese Calligraphy theory and research course at CUHK.

Date: December 17, 2024 and January 7, 14 and 21, 2025 (Every Tuesday, 4 sessions)
Time: 6:30-8:00pm (1.5 hours)
Target participants: CUHK staff
Venue: Rm 103, Wong Foo Yuan Building (Chung Chi Campus)
Fee: $400/head (member) or
$600/head (non-member) ｜ Joining the CUEGU membership (annual fee is $60) can immediately enjoy the fee for members

The CUHK Employee General Union meets with representatives of the University every six months. The Union sets the agenda for the meetings to reflect staff’s views on University policies, requests for information, and suggestions for policy improvements. In the past, the topics of discussion included: the proper name and treatment of instructors, support for disabled staff, and monitoring of the outsourcing system, etc. In the future, we will hold a meeting with the University.
Now we will have a meeting with the University on 19 December.
