HIST2140 State and Society in Ancient China

課程簡介：

先秦為中國文明的形成期。課程將以中國先秦時期的國家形態和社會特點為重點，扼要講解先秦史的經典文獻和重大的考古發現。課程亦會涉及研究古代文明的基本方法，簡明介紹其它地區的古代文明，梳理古代中國國家與社會和其它文明的異同之處，為理解以後中國歷史的發展脈絡奠定基礎。

課程目標:

• 瞭解中國先秦社會與國家的主要特點和獨特的歷史發展軌跡；
• 學習掌握先秦史基礎的文獻和出土文物相關知識；
• 課程會涉及對其它地區文明的簡單介紹，通過跨文明對比的視角，幫助學生瞭解中國上古時期社會與國家的特點；
• 透過導修課提高基本的書面和口頭報告技巧。

Assignments without the properly signed declaration will not be graded by teachers.

Only the final version of the assignment should be submitted via VeriGuide.

The submission of a piece of work, or a part of a piece of work, for more than one purpose (e.g. to satisfy the requirements in two different courses) without declaration to this effect shall be regarded as having committed undeclared multiple submissions. It is common and acceptable to reuse a turn of phrase or a sentence or two from one’s own work; but wholesale reuse is problematic. In any case, agreement from the course teacher(s) concerned should be obtained prior to the submission of the piece of work.
