Tuition Fee, Financial Aid & Scholarships

Tuition fees vary across different master’s programmes. There are various financial aid options and scholarships to support students in pursuing postgraduate studies at CUHK Business School. Scholarships offered by CUHK Business School or specific master’s programmes are awarded to outstanding students based on admission qualifications or academic performance during their studies.

Financial Aid

Several financial aid options are available to both local and non-local students.

  • Continuing Education Fund (CEF)

    Some of the courses in our master’s programmes are considered reimbursable for CEF purposes. Eligible candidate could reimburse up to HK$20,000 once  successfully completed the course.

  • Loans for non-local students

    Prodigy Finance offers postgraduate loans for students studying abroad. The loans can cover only tuition and are not available to citizens and permanent residents of Hong Kong.

Scholarships

A wide range of scholarships is offered by CUHK Business School and specific master’s programmes to outstanding candidates. These scholarships encompass both admission-based and merit-based awards. The Admission Scholarships recognises students who possess exceptional qualifications upon entrance, including academic achievements, interview performance, and their potential to contribute to their cohorts. On the other hand, the merit-based scholarships is granted to students who demonstrate outstanding performance throughout their Master’s studies. Students may be awarded multiple scholarship upon assessment by the programmes.

  • Admission Scholarships

    All applications will be automatically considered for the scholarship and no separate application is needed. The Programmes will identify qualified students and inform the selected students of the scholarship offers.

    BOC- CUHK International Scholarship

    BOC- CUHK International Scholarship is designed to support outstanding students from ASEAN countries who wish to further pursue their postgraduate studies* at CUHK Business School.

    Scholars will be entitled to:

    • 60% coverage of tuition fees
    • Work on a practicum project sponsored by BOCHK during the study period
    • Fast-track interview opportunities to work for BOC offices in HK or SEA upon graduation

    * To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be admitted into one of the following CUHK Business School Master’s Programmes

    BTS Group Scholarship

    BTS Group Scholarship aims to support students from Thailand to pursue their graduate degree in business at CUHK Business School.

    Scholars will be awarded HK$120,000 in tuition, in addition to a living expenses allowance of HK$30,000.


    Laura M Cha Capital Markets Scholarship Programme

    This scholarship scheme aims to support international students who have genuine interest in global finance and capital markets and related areas, and demonstrate strong academic performance to pursue an MSc in Finance at CUHK Business School. Scholars may be invited to conduct a research study or short-term internships, sharing sessions or presentation ceremonies.

    Scholars will be awarded HK$400,000 of tuition waiver.


    LPDP – Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency

    Indonesian applicants may be eligible to apply for the LPDP scholarship when considering our master’s programmes. For details and eligibility criteria, please refer to the official website of LPDP.


    Scholarship for Malaysian students

    Support outstanding students who are Malaysian citizen to pursue master’s studies at CUHK Business School

    Scholars will be awarded up to HK$320,000 in tuition.


    CFA Scholarship

    Support students from MSc in Finance who have completed CFA level 1 or higher.

    Scholars will be awarded up to HK$50,000 in tuition.


    Director’s Admission Scholarship

    Support outstanding candidates from MSc in Finance programme during the admission process.

    Scholars will be awarded 25% of the tuition fee.


    Diversity Excellence Scholarship

    Diversity Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to new MSc in Marketing students based on their outstanding academic performance or/and other outstanding merits and they are able to increase the diversity of the student body.

    Scholars will be awarded up to 100% of the tuition fee.

  • Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme (FTSS)

    Established by the University Grants Committee (UGC) in 2025-2026, the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) provides scholarships for local students to pursue designated taught postgraduate programmes. The main objectives of FTSS are to attract more local students to pursue advanced studies in priority areas conducive to the development of Hong Kong and expand the pool of high-calibre talents for various domains, while further promoting the development of our city into an international hub for post-secondary education.

    The following programmes are eligible for FTSS in the 2026/27 intake:

    • MSc in Finance
    • MSc in Information and Technology Management

    Scholarship amount:

    1. FTSS awardees are required to pay a minimum tuition fee being the prevailing rate of the UGC-funded full-time degree programmes (i.e. HK$44,500 (for the 2025/26 intake) and HK$47,000 (for the 2026/27 intake), and the differences will be subsidised by the scholarships subject to a cap of HK$100,000 for each student for the whole taught postgraduate programme, regardless of the actual study period and mode of study.
    2. The scholarship will be used for the settlement of the tuition fee only.

    Eligibility and Assessment Criteria

    1. Local students1, both full-time and part-time, admitted2 to the designated TPg programmes of the University for the 2025/26 and the 2026/27 Intakes are eligible to apply for the Scheme of that intake (Note: Applications for FTSS for 2026/27 will only be invited in June 2026)
    2. To avoid “double benefit”, students received financial support from other public sources for the purpose of meeting tuition fee expenses would not be eligible for the FTSS. Those who have been awarded a scholarship under the Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme in the past for another programme shall also not be eligible for this scholarship.
    3. The University will take into account the following criteria for the selection of scholarship awardees (include but not limited to):
      • Readiness and ability to contribute significantly to the development of Hong Kong or the Greater Bay Area after graduation from the TPg programme;
      • Academic achievements;
      • Professional qualifications;
      • Relevant working experience; and
      • Achievements in other areas

    Notes:

     

    • Only local students of eligible programmes can apply for the scholarship under FTSS. Applicants would be considered a non-local student if he/she is a holder of the following documents issued by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR:

     

    i) Student visa/entry permit; or
    ii) Visa/entry permit under the Immigration Arrangement for Non-local Graduates; or
    iii) Dependent visa/entry permit who were 18 years old or above when he/she was issued with such visa/entry permit by the Director of Immigration

    • Only applicants who have got an admission offer, accepted the offer and settled the admission deposit will be considered for the Scheme.

  • Merit-based Scholarships

    Students who consistently excel in academic performance and professional development are eligible to receive the award for their outstanding achievements. There is no need to submit a separate application for the majority of our merit-based scholarships. However, it is important to note that some scholarships schemes may require application. Please refer to the specific details provided below for further clarification:

    FTLife Scholarship

    FTLife Scholarship is offered by FTLife Insurance Company Limited and will be awarded to outstanding students from MSc in Actuarial Science and Insurance Analytics. No separate application is necessary. The Programme will identify qualified students and inform the selected students of the scholarship offers.


    The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers Scholarship

    The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers Scholarship is offered by The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers and will be awarded to one outstanding Hong Kong local student from MSc in Actuarial Science and Insurance Analytics. No additional application is required. Qualified student will be identified by the Programme and notified about the scholarship offers.


    Professional Exam Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered by professional accounting organizations including ACCA, CPA Australia and TIHK. Students who are interested in this scholarship will need to apply through Master of Accountancy Programme.


    Below Master’s Programme also provide different varieties of merit-based scholarship scheme to outstanding student during master’s study. Respective programme will evaluate eligible students and communicate scholarship offers directly to the selected individuals.
