The following programmes are calling for applications:


Clare Hall Visiting Fellowship Programme at Cambridge

Established in 1966, Clare Hall is a constituent college of Cambridge. Its Visiting Fellowship Programme welcomes visiting fellows from diverse nationalities and academic disciplines, offering a valuable opportunity for fostering academic exchange and building up research networks. Fellows from all academic disciplines are welcomed. Visiting fellows live on the grounds of Clare Hall and engage in a variety of activities with other fellows, including colloquia, seminars, special interest groups, and meals.

Full-time teaching appointees of Assistant Professor rank or above who have served at the University for at least one year are eligible to apply. The visit may take place for a minimum of six months and a maximum of 12 months during September 2026 to August 2027. Applicants should have made connection with a host department most closely related to their work and seek their invitation/support for hosting them as a visiting fellow during the proposed period.

Applicants should submit the internal application form to the Office of Academic Links (OAL) (oal_schemes@cuhk.edu.hk) by 15 October 2025 (Wednesday) for consideration by a central panel at CUHK. Selected applicant(s) will be notified by early November. They should then submit an online application along with three reference letters, an invitation letter from the host department at Cambridge, and other supporting documents for consideration by Clare Hall’s Fellowship Committee. Online Information Session
An online information session introducing the Clare Hall Visiting Fellowship Programme at Cambridge and the CUHK-Stanford University CASBS Partner Fellowship Programme will be held on 29 September (Monday) at 3:00pm. Past awardees will be invited to share their experience. Faculty members interested in the programmes are encouraged to join the session. Please click here for registration.

 


CUHK-Stanford University CASBS Partner Fellowship Programme

CUHK and Stanford University’s Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (CASBS) have a Partner Fellowship Programme which provides an opportunity for CUHK faculty members to take part in a residential fellowship at Stanford that fosters interdisciplinary intellectual exchange and contributes to advancing research and thinking in the social sciences. The fellows represent the core social and behavioral sciences (anthropology, economics, geography, history, law, political science, psychology and sociology) as well as the humanities, education, linguistics, communications, and the biological, natural, health, and computer sciences. Applications from scholars in other areas whose work has human behavioral and social dimensions are also welcome. The selected fellows will spend nine months at CASBS, where they will meet with fellows from diverse academic disciplines worldwide. The programme will strengthen their academic network and facilitate collaborations across academia, policy, industry, civil society, and government to collectively design a better future.

Full-time teaching appointees of Assistant Professor rank or above, with at least three to four years past the doctorate or equivalent degree, and who have served at the University for at least one year, are eligible to apply. The visit period is from September 2026 to May 2027.

Sydney China Distinguished Fellowship

The University of Sydney (USyd) is inviting applications to the Sydney China Distinguished Fellowship 2026. The fellowship within the Discipline of Chinese Studies in the School of Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at USyd supports Distinguished Fellows to visit USyd for 4-12 weeks each year. 

The Distinguished Fellowship will provide:

  • Return economy class airfare
  • An accommodation subsidy of up to AUD$200 a day
  • Stipend of AUD$1,000 a week
  • Office space
  • Library and related systems access.
  • The Distinguished Fellowship is subject to successful nominees obtaining a valid visa to enter Australia. The China Studies Centre at USyd will assist the visa application process but all costs associated with the application are the responsibility of the nominated Distinguished Fellow.

Applications should be submitted via the online submission form by 31 October 2025 at 20:59 (HKT).
