Course Description
This is a graduate level topics course on analysis. This term, we will study partial differential equations (PDEs) arising from geometry, with a focus on semi-linear elliptic equations, k-Hessian equations, and the Monge-Ampère equation. The course will emphasize the uniqueness of solutions, i.e. the Liouville type theorem. We will investigate these equations using techniques such as the Obata identity, properties of differential operators, and other tools from geometric analysis.
