, In appreciation of the generous donation from Dr. Pak Suet Sin and the Yam Pak Charitable Foundation, and to celebrate Dr. Pak’s 90th birthday, the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library will present the exhibition “Unveiling the Splendor of the Flower Princess: An Exhibition from CUHK Library’s Yam Pak Collection in Honour of Dr. Pak Suet Sin’s 90 Years” from March 27 to July 31, 2017. The first stage of the exhibition (27 March – 13 May) is reserved for internal preview and for the second stage (14 May – 31 July) it will be open to the public. The exhibition will showcase the Library’s invaluable collection of the Sin Fung Ming Troupe’s libretti, stage stills and other photos, among which the Troupe’s clay-print libretti are the most valuable treasures. The clay-print libretti were usually produced in no more than a dozen copies and were accessible only to principal performers, the percussionist, and the stage instructor. They are the relics of the playwrights’ original ideation, glinting with their great creativity. Another set of treasures is the Troupe’s stage stills which perpetuate the glamour of the stage and the glory of its actors and actresses. We invite our visitors to follow the steps of the Sin Fung Ming Troupe, along the path of Hong Kong Cantonese opera’s development., 香港中文大學圖書館舉辦 = Unveiling the Splendor of the Flower Princess : an exhibition from CUHK Library's Yam Pak Collection in honour of Dr. Pak Suet Sin's 90 years / presented by the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library., "27.3.2017-31.7.2017 ; 香港中文大學大學圖書館展覽廳", Xianggang Zhong wen da xue tu shu guan ju ban = Unveiling the splendor of the Flower Princess : an exhibition from CUHK Library's Yam Pak Collection in honour of Dr. Pak Suet Sin's 90 years / presented by the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library., Detailed summary in vernacular field only.

, Co-organized by the Hong Kong Literature Research Centre (HKLRC) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library, the exhibition Looking Back at the Meandering Waters: Hong Kong in the Eyes of Xiao Si will be held from September 5 to October 31, 2016. HKLRC started an oral history project namely "Hong Kong in the Eyes of Literati" in 2014 and the first interview was with Xiao Si (Prof. Lo Wai-luen). The autobiographical interview covers her insights on research, education and literary creation. Looking Back at the Meandering Waters refers to the well-known calligrapher Wang Xizhi' (王羲之) who composed the preface Lantingji Xu (蘭亭集序) for the poetry collection in view of the ever-changing life and backward-looking generations. The exhibition echoes with the retrospective spirit towards the origin of our culture. Being a scholar, a teacher and a writer, Xiao Si's contributions left permanent marks on various aspects. Her bequeathed collection of books, manuscripts and archives, along with the establishment of the HKLRC underpin some of the most significant developments in Hong Kong literary studies. The exhibition highlights the key collections of Xiao Si under the headings of "Personal Writings and Manuscripts", "Vintage Books and Periodicals", "Newspapers and Tabloids", "Indexes and Archives", "Oral History and Interviews" and "Hong Kong Literary Walks". Two sets of talks introduce the themes accordingly, granting an easy access to an admirable scholar-writer and reminisces of Hong Kong culture., 香港文學研究中心,香港中文大學圖書館合辦 = Looking Back at the Meandering Waters : Hong Kong in the Eyes of Xiaosi / jointly presented by Hong Kong Literature Research Centre, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library., "5.9.2016-31.10.2016; 香港中文大學大學圖書館展覽廳", Xianggang wen xue yan jiu zhong xin, Xianggang Zhong wen da xue da xue tu shu guan he ban = Looking Back at the Meandering Waters : Hong Kong in the Eyes of Xiaosi / jointly presented by Hong Kong Literature Research Centre, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library., Detailed summary in vernacular field only.
