Chinese Medicine Texts Collection

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Library has made continuous efforts to promote the construction and development of the Chinese Medicine Texts Collection. As of 2023, CUHK Library has completed two phases of the project. The first phase of the project includes the generous donation of the "Professor Cheung Siu-cheong Chinese Medicine Collection" by Professor Kong Yun Cheung. This collection of precious books holds immense value for the study of Chinese medicine.

In the second phase of the project, CUHK Library further digitized its own Classical Chinese Medicine collection. These books consist of 400 volumes from 47 rare book editions dating from the Qing Dynasty to Minguo period. The quantity and diversity of these ancient texts provide researchers with a broader range of resources, facilitating a deeper understanding of the evolution and development of Chinese medicine.

The "Open Access" Chinese Medicine Texts Collection at CUHK Library not only provides abundant research resources for the academic community but also promotes resource sharing and offers opportunities for the public to gain insights into the culture of Chinese medicine. This project's launch and continuous expansion demonstrates CUHK Library's dedication to preserving and promoting classical Chinese medicine culture.
