Notes: Zhang Tiesheng became famous during the Cultural Revolution for going against the tide. He was sent to the countryside in 1968. In 1973 he was selected to take university entrance exam, but he wrote on the exam that he had “no respect for bookworms”, supporting in this way the undergoing campaigns to oppose “the restoration of university entrance examination”.
