A*STAR Research Attachment Programme
(For CUHK Faculty Members)

The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore is calling for applications for the A*STAR Research Attachment Programme (ARAP). The programme supports collaboration between A*STAR and its partner universities, including CUHK. Under the programme, CUHK PhD students will pursue research for one to two years at A*STAR Research Institutes to deepen and broaden their research experience under the mentorship of researchers in Singapore.
Research areas
The attachments should fall under one of the following categories:
- Biomedical Sciences
- Computing and Information Sciences
- Engineering and Technology
- Physical Sciences
Funding support for PhD students
- Monthly stipend of S$2,700
- Monthly housing subsidy of S$600
- One-time airfare grant of S$1,500
- One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000
- One-time IT allowance of S$800
- Medical insurance
- Conference allowance
Application
- CUHK faculty members should contact the A*STAR researchers listed under the ARAP webpage to identify collaboration opportunities and conceptualize a joint project.
- To nominate a student, a CUHK faculty member and a researcher from A*STAR should complete the nomination form and submit it together with the required documents to Ms. Jamie Low of A*STAR (Jamie_Low@hq.a-star.edu.sg) by 30 November 2023 (Thursday) / 15 May 2024 (Wednesday).
