The team “Total Bacteria” have been awarded in the International Space Science and Scientific Payload Competition (iSSSP) 2024

Congratulations to three outstanding students who recently received prestigious awards at the International Space Science and Scientific Payload Competition (iSSSP) 2024.

The team “Total Bacteria”, under the supervision of Professors NGAI To and KWOK Man Hin Patrick, is comprised of two PhD students in Chemistry – CHONG Hio Lam and YUEN Chun Bong, and an undergraduate student in Chemistry & Biology, Nelson Fabiano DA COSTA. The team was awarded the Silver Award in the “Creative Design of Space Experiment” stream under the University Group category. They also received the special “Best Hardware Award” for their impressive demonstration of their space experiment design.

The iSSSP is a highly competitive competition that challenges participants to develop innovative space science experiments and payloads. The inaugural event held in 2023 had attracted more than 1,000 participants from more than 50 countries and nearly 80 universities.

Congratulations again to “Total Bacteria” on this remarkable accomplishment!
