Congratulations to two PhD students CHONG Hio Lam and YUEN Chun Bong for their remarkable achievements at the 4th Asia Exhibition of Innovations and Inventions Hong Kong (AEII) 2024.
Under the supervision of Professors NGAI To and KWOK Man Hin Patrick, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 “𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 – 𝐂𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞” 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 “𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 – 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬” 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲. This project utilises fast-growing bacteria to produce strong bacterial cellulose (BC), providing an eco-alternative to conventional plastic packaging by offering transparency and resistance to water and oil, addressing the increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
AEII, hosted by HK Exporters’ Association, is the Asia’s annual exhibition cum competition exclusively devoted to innovations and inventions from Asia, by partnering with Palexpo, Geneva, organiser of the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.
