The Office of Academic Links (OAL) hosted a one-week orientation to welcome some 500 incoming students from 31 countries/regions in late August. The orientation was filled with a variety of activities designed to help students settle in and immerse into the campus community.

The week was kicked off with a warm welcome remark by the Provost Prof. Alan Chan. This was followed by a series of information sessions delivered by OAL and other CUHK units, providing essential insights and guidance on different aspects of university life and services available. Additionally, there were numerous networking opportunities, allowing incoming students to connect with both local and international peers to foster a sense of community and belonging.

The orientation week was concluded with a welcome dinner hosted by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rocky S. Tuan. It was a wonderful occasion for students to celebrate the beginning of their academic journey at CUHK, experience a traditional Chinese banquet, and engage in meaningful conversations with fellow students and university leaders.

Students are set to embark on an exciting journey of learning, adventures, and cultural exchange in Hong Kong.
