Prof. Wang Dajun from the Department of Physics has been elected as a 2024 American Physical Society (APS) Fellow. APS is one of the most prestigious professional societies for physicists in the world. The APS Fellowship, established in 1921, recognizes members for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of physics through original research.
The APS Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics (DAMOP) honors Prof. Wang with a citation “For foundational work on polar molecules, BEC mixtures, quantum droplets, and BEC spherical shells”. Prof. Wang’s experimental group at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has been working on ultracold quantum gases of atoms and polar molecules since 2010. Over the past decade, ultracold molecules have emerged as one of the major frontiers in AMO and quantum physics. The group’s work has significantly contributed to this advancement, playing an important role in its substantial progress. |
