香港中文大學香港亞太研究所社會創新研究中心將於2025年2月21日(星期五)下午2時至5時舉辦「減廢香港·工人姐姐點幫手」圓桌會議,探討在推動外傭減廢及環保行動中的經驗與挑戰。本中心希望結集現時社會上推廣外傭環保實踐的行動者、學者、關注外傭權益團體以及環保團體。我們希望各方持份者分享外傭減廢推廣的實際困難與成功經驗,集思廣益,在現有社區減廢、回收等政策配套下增加外傭友善的元素。分享機構及組織包括:

會議希望可以:
* 分享在參與推廣外傭減廢、環保行動中的經歷與挑戰;

The Centre for Social Innovation Studies will organize a roundtable discussion on ‘Migrant Domestic helpers practicing waste reduction for Hong Kong’ on 21 February 2025 (Friday), from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, to explore the experiences and challenges in promoting waste reduction and environmental protection initiatives among migrant domestic helper community. The Centre hopes to bring together activists, academics, Migrant domestic helper rights groups and NGOs in the community to promote migrant domestic helpers’ environmental practices. We hope that all stakeholders will share the practical difficulties and successful experiences in promoting migrant domestic helpers’ waste reduction, and draw on collective wisdom to add friendly elements to the existing community policies on waste reduction and recycling. Sharing organisations include:
* Caritas Asia Migrant Workers Social Service Programme
* Community for Sustainable Development
* Diocesan Commission for Integral Human Development
* Mission for Migrant Workers
The conference hopes to:
* Share the experiences and challenges in promoting migrant domestic helpers’ waste reduction and environmental protection;
* Listen to the views of academics, the community, and other organizations on waste reduction and environmental protection;
* Address the difficulties in the current practice and provide a platform for promoting migrant domestic helpers’ welfare. To address the difficulties in the current practice, to provide better community support and complementary measures, and to communicate and co-operate effectively with various sectors of the community at the policy level;
* To inspire innovative ideas in planning to implement the policy on promoting inclusive and migrant domestic helper-friendly environmental protection work.
