Dr. Lau is a Senior Lecturer, Manager of an aided secondary school, Assistant Professor (part-time) and MA thesis supervisor of a private university. She is appointed as member of Assessment Panel (Values Education) of Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2024-25). Dr. Lau had served as Subject Panel of Ethics and Religion of a secondary school; Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and EDD co-supervisor at the Education University of Hong Kong. She also served as a member of Curriculum Development Institute of Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB), and the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA). Dr. Lau received Certificate of Appreciation of School-based Curriculum Project Scheme of Education Department (2000), the Inaugural Caring Teaching Award of Faculty of Education and Human Development (2021), Award for Excellent FE Supervision (2021-22) at the Education University of Hong Kong. Research and teaching expertise include transnational meditation in Chinese communities, religious education, spiritual health, values education, positive pedagogy, mindfulness education, moral and ethics education of teachers, and inclusive education, etc. Dr. Lau has been working on research projects on mindfulness education and mind-body-spirit health for undergraduates, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers since 2007. Apart from publishing academic papers in international journals and academic publishers, she reviews academic papers for journals (i.e. Mindfulness, Religions, International Journal of Children’s Spirituality) and organizes academic conferences.
