1 Course Description
This course is a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. It aims to increase participants’ self-understanding and enhance their communication skills by applying the Satir Model. Participants will learn about communication patterns, congruence, verbal and nonverbal communication based on the pioneering work of Virginia Satir, a well-known family therapist. Through self-exploration, role-play activities, and real-world applications, participants will gain insights into their own communication patterns, quickly grasp communication skills with people, and equip their ability to communicate with others and effectively express their impact in daily life.
2 Course Content
(1) Introduction to the Satir Model developed by family therapist Virginia Satir, as well as its application to self-understanding and self-development.
(2) Introduction of Iceberg's concept for the understanding of underlying themes and messages not explicitly revealed on the surface.
(3) Examination on the importance of verbal and nonverbal communication in the Satir Model in order to enhance effective communication.
(4) Application on Satir's principles in a variety of scenarios, including personal relationships, professional settings, and dispute resolution in daily life and relationship.
