Call for Applications: University of Toronto’s Summer by Design Programme (Deadline: 23 January 2023)

University of Toronto (UofT)’s Summer by Design programme is calling for applications. It is an intensive programme for PhD students and post-doctoral fellows offered by UofT’s Medicine by Design initiative in partnership with CCRM, the Rotman School of Management and Stem Cell Network in commercialisation and translation of regenerative medicine.

Summer by Design (Deadline: 23 January 2023)
Aim The programme will feature expert-led, interactive sessions including lectures, group work and case studies. Participants will:

  • Learn from experts across various aspects of the technology translation continuum and be introduced to important topics involved in the business of regenerative medicine
  • Explore Toronto’s dynamic life sciences hub by meeting with clinical and industry leaders in the field of regenerative medicine
  • Make connections with other Summer by Design participants to strengthen their networks of international peers
Date 19-28 June 2023
Eligibility
  • PhD candidates or post-doctoral fellows in engineering, life science or medicine whose research is focused on regenerative medicine
  • Have a strong interest and/or experience in clinical translation or commercialisation
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for working as part a team or group, an interest in international collaboration, and enthusiasm for sharing their expertise, research and insights from their home institution with the larger group
Costs Instructional costs and accommodation in a university residence with breakfast each day will be supported by the Medicine by Design.

Participants will be responsible for:

  • Travel costs to and from Toronto
  • Lunches and most dinners, incidental expenses and health insurance
  • Arranging appropriate travel documents to enter Canada, where applicable
