Vice-Chancellor speaks on sustainability education at WUN Annual General Meeting

The WUN AGM in Monterrey gathers some 50 representatives from across the member universities.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, spoke at the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Presidents Forum on sustainability education in May. Joining his counterparts from the University of Alberta, University of Bristol, and Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in the ‘Leadership in Education and Curriculum’ panel, Prof. Tuan emphasised the critical role of universities in addressing global sustainability challenges and CUHK’s commitment to integrating sustainable development in its curriculum and fostering a culture of social responsibility. He shared about the SDG Scheme in the University General Education Programme; the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change which has attracted over 1.3m visitors to date and trained over 100 student ambassadors; and the partnerships with the University of Exeter and QS, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities for online student programmes related to the SDGs.
The Presidents Forum was part of the 3-day WUN Annual General Meeting hosted by Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico during 22-24 May. The event brought together some 50 representatives from across the member universities, including Prof. Mai Har Sham, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), who represented CUHK in the WUN Academic Advisory Group.
