Admissions on a Rolling Basis
Admissions will be processed on a rolling basis until all places have been filled. Therefore, early applications are strongly encouraged. The application deadline may be closed early if places are no longer available. The subsequent applications received may not be considered.

Application Procedures
You are taking a huge step towards unlocking your potential by applying for a postgraduate degree at CUHK Business School.
1. Apply online
You can apply through the Online Application System.
You will need:
- To create a personal account online
- Digital copies of your HKID/passport, transcripts and certificates
- Your personal statement and curriculum vitae
2. Pay the application fee
A non-refundable application fee of HK$400* is applicable to all programmes.
*Fee subject to adjustments
You can pay by Alipay/WeChat Pay/Credit card/FPS through the Online Application System.
3. Submit your supporting documents
Upload a soft copy of all supporting documents to the Online Application System before the deadline. You can find more information of documents requirement here.
The documents required are listed on the Online Application System.
Your application will only be processed once we have received all your supporting documents.
4. Attend an interview
After submitting your application, you may be invited by email for an interview at the programme’s discretion.

Before getting started, please ensure you have met our entry requirements.
General entry requirements
You should have a bachelor’s degree with Second Class honours or achieved an average grade of B from a recognized university, or an equivalent professional qualification.
GMAT, GMAT Focus Edition or GRE
Applicants applying to full-time programme may be required to submit a GMAT / GMAT Focus Edition or GRE score report. For applicants applying to part-time programme, providing a GMAT / GMAT Focus Edition or GRE score is encouraged, but not required.
Please note:
- Score reports are considered valid for five years from the test date.
- You can apply online before your score is ready.
- Score reports obtained by online GMAT, GMAT Focus Edition or GRE General Test at Home may be recognized, subject to consideration of programme(s) concerned.
- Both hard or electronic copies of the Official Score Report of GMAT / GMAT Focus Edition or GRE sent by GMAC or ETS to the relevant programme office are acceptable.
- Priority is given to applicants who submit a recognized Official Score Report.

English language proficiency
To fulfill the University’s minimum English language requirements for admission to master’s, you should have:
- obtained a degree from a university in Hong Kong1 or taken a degree programme of which the medium of instruction was English; or
- achieved scores in any one of the following English Language tests2 as indicated if your degree is awarded by a non-English speaking country:
- TOEFL: 550 (Paper-based) / 79 (Internet-based / Home Edition);
- IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (Test Centre based / Online);
- GMAT: Band 21 (Verbal);
- GMAT Focus Edition: 78 (Verbal); or
- obtained a recognized professional qualification3, provided that the examination was conducted in English.

Notes:
- This is based on the understanding that English is the medium of instruction of degree programmes offered by universities in Hong Kong. Moreover, graduates from universities in Hong Kong should have fulfilled the English language requirements of the institution concerned when they were admitted to the degree programmes. The CUHK Graduate School may request applicants to provide additional supporting documents to prove their English proficiency.
- TOEFL and IELTS scores are considered valid for two years from the test date. GMAT / GMRAT Focus Edition scores are considered valid for five years from the test date.
- The programmes/Graduate Divisions shall at their discretion to determine if such professional qualification can be accepted.

Qualification assessment
If your degree was obtained through distance learning or the curriculum was of short duration, you will need to get an assessment report from the Hong Kong Council of Academic Accreditation & Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) to submit with your application.
Concurrent registration
Under the University’s regulations, you cannot be registered for another course of study leading to the award of a degree, diploma or certificate, either at CUHK or any other tertiary institution at the same time.
The only exception to this is if you have applied in advance with the endorsement of the relevant graduate division and the approval of the Graduate Council. You can download the application form here.
Students in breach of this regulation will be required to discontinue their studies at the University.
Getting a visa
Non-local students require a valid visa / entry permit to study in Hong Kong. Once you have been admitted to the programme, you can apply for a student visa from the Hong Kong Immigration Department via the CUHK Graduate School Office.
