Re: Important Reminder: 1st Term Course Add/Drop 2024-25 Ends on 23 September 2024
Dear Students,
Kindly be reminded that the course add/drop period at Departments will end on 23 September 2024 (next MONDAY). If there are special reasons such as those listed below that you have to add/drop courses, please submit the completed add/drop form to the course offering departments concerned by 17:30 (HKT) on 20 September 2024.
- To add/drop course(s) to meet prescribed term course load.
- To enroll postgraduate course(s) which departments do not allow students to enroll under CUSIS.
- To take course(s) for fulfillment of graduation requirements.
Students MUST check again their final course enrolment records under “View My Classes” of CUSIS on 23 September 2024. Any course add/drop after 23 September 2024 will be regarded as late add/drop. Students MUST approach the course teachers concerned for advice before submission of the application under CUSIS. Relevant supporting documents MUST also be uploaded under CUSIS whenever appropriate and necessary, otherwise the application will be rejected. For the prescribed procedures, please refer to “Late Course Add/Drop on CUSIS” on RES homepage.
Please note that students should finalize their course enrolment within the add/drop period of the University which will end on 23 September 2024. Late add/drop applications will only be accepted for students with special reasons/circumstances and the deadline for submission of applications under CUSIS will be 23 November 2024 (23:59 HKT). No late application will be entertained.

Re: 1st Term Course Add/Drop 2024-25
Dear Students,
The e-add/drop period under CUSIS will start TODAY at 8:30 p.m. If you wish to add or drop classes in 1st term 2023-24, please perform course add/drop on CUSIS during 9 September (8:30 p.m.) - 15 September (8:30 p.m.).
If there are special reasons/circumstances such as those listed below that you cannot add/drop the courses during the e-add/drop period, please seek advice from course offering department during 16-23 September 2024.
- To add/drop course(s) to meet prescribed term course load.
- To enroll postgraduate classes which departments do not allow students to enroll under CUSIS.
- To take course(s) for fulfillment of graduation requirements.
Students MUST check again their final course enrolment records under “View My Classes” of CUSIS on 23 September 2024 to make sure once again the course enrollment records are correct and up-to-date.

The first teaching day of 1st term 2024-25 will begin on 2 September 2024. Students should pay attention to the following information pertaining to course add/drop of this academic term, and if necessary, refer to the detailed information on RES homepage. |

Application for Exceeding Term Course Load on CUSIS (29 August - 2 September 2024) |

Please submit application for exceeding course load (for update of term course load for course add/drop period) during the specified time as announced on RES homepage. Late application will NOT be accepted. Please observe detailed information on RES homepage before submission. For year 1 students, please observe their course load information as allowed before making any submission of applications for exceeding course load. |

2. |
Course Add/Drop on CUSIS (9-15 September 2024) |
|||
|
Students should add/drop courses under CUSIS from 9 September 2024 (8:30 p.m.) to 15 September 2024 (8:30 p.m.) except for courses with "add/drop consent". To free up quotas for other students, students should DROP the courses as soon as possible and by 8:30 p.m. on 15 September 2024 if they no longer intend to register for the course. Departments may NOT allow any drop of the courses during 16-23 September 2024 unless for special reasons. Students who are on wait list will enroll automatically whenever the quota is increased, or when the quota is freed up by other students. It is students' own responsibility to check their updated course enrolment under “View My Classes” on a daily basis. |

Special Course Add/Drop at Department (16-17, 19-20 & 23 September 2024) |

Students with special reasons may approach course offering departments concerned for course add/drop during 16-17, 19-20 and 23 September 2024. |

Regulation on Course Load |
|||
|
Students should observe Regulation 5.0 Course Load and Selection in the General Regulations Governing Full-time Undergraduate Studies regarding the prescribed course load of at least 9 units and no more than 18 units of courses to be registered in any academic term within the normative study period, unless otherwise permitted. RES will send e-mail reminders to students concerned if they have course load problem. |

Personal Information and “My Academics” in “Profile” tile under CUSIS |

To ensure data accuracy, please review once again the records of name, addresses, emergency contact information in “Profile” tile under CUSIS, and update them whenever necessary. The University may need to contact you and/or your emergency contact person by phone/mail whenever urgent situations occur. Students may also enquire detailed academic information under “My Academics”, including major programme, sub-plan/concentration (where applicable), study period, etc. Please check the information carefully and contact RES if there are any discrepancies. |

First Term Course Enrolment under CUSIS (28 August 2024) |

Students should check their time appointments for course selection in “Enrollment Dates” under CUSIS on 21 August 2024 or after. It is students' responsibility to check the time appointments under CUSIS and logon CUSIS at the designated time periods for course registration. For details of course enrollment, please refer to “First Term Course Registration and Add/Drop, 2024-25 for New students” posted on RES homepage. |

As departments may make amendments to the timetable information and/or course enrolment rules, students MUST check their eligibility to enroll the course(s) prior to course registration. |

Application for exceeding term course load in 1st term 2024-25 (for update of term course load for course registration period) starts today (19 August 2024) and will close on 22 August 2024 (11:59 p.m.). For details, please refer to the information on RES homepage. Please allow time for your Major Department to consider the applications and results will ONLY be released on CUSIS on or after 26 August 2024.
